iSpeak on Iraq War
|
As a veteran, I supported Bush in the beginning if the war. But he has no plan and there is no end in sight. It is a shame--brave American boys are dying in a lost cause. Get us out now!

We really need to get out of there. We are there because Bush chose to take us there. We must take care of our own backyard…This country is under attack now. It will get worse long before we see a light at the end of the tunnel. Please let time go fast so we can be rid of Bush. This is one horror of a president. If not for 9/11, he would have faded into the White House walls. Whoever voted for him made a mistake.
I worked for Dry Harbor for 23 years, and was a Delegate for that amount of time. I retired in 1999 but am here should the Union neeed me. Be well.

We should stay in Iraq until the job is finished. That way we will show the world that we keep our word, no matter what the crybabies say.

I think the people who run this country believe that what is good for business--defined as market capitalism with no controls for quality or fairness--is good for the country. So, "let's take advantage of the 9/11 attack to invade Iraq, set up a base to support market capitalism in the Middle East, where we can influence the oil supply."
Invading Iraq had nothing to do with the US security needs. However, the invasion is failing as an incubator for "freedom," which is defined by George Bush as market capitalism, too. It was wrong-headed from the start. We, the USA, blew an opportunity to be a moral leader for the world after the Cold War, to envision an era of peace and cooperation. We should fight terrorists with police actions, cooperation with other nations, support for justice and opportunity among all peoples, not by a continuous war that justifies secrecy, lack of support for social services, and decreased rights.

Get out now. Lies brought us in. The war is getting worse--more deaths and misery for oil. Hussein was not responsible for 9-11.The Bush Administration could have prevented 9-11. End the war, impeach Bush, indict Cheney. End right wing extremism.

There was no reason to go into Iraq--no weapons of mass destruction, the 9-11 hijackers were not Iraqis, but Saudis.
Saddam was a nut, yes, but he did not attack us on 9-11. The real nut is in the White House. We are in Iraq for oil, and reconstruction money for Cheney's company. Defense contractors are making billions selling war machines. It’s too bad we don't have a vote for president for two more years. we have to get the nut out of office now!

We don't belong there and we should have never gone there. It is really sad that people are dying. I guess at first everyone believed our President, but somewhere down the line we all realized he was lying to like every other politician. They should have a woman in office, They don't jump into war and they have more compassion. A woman will think twice before letting a child go to war. She would find every and way to work things out first.

I think that we are in Iraq for personal reasons. The President was upset that they made an attempt on his father's life and he wanted revenge. Now he is looking out for his financial interests in the oil industry. We need to get out. We have done the democratic thing and that country now holds elections. Our "job" is done. Bring our troops home before any more of them die.

Our president is an idiot. We should not be in Iraq. Where are the weapons of mass destruction? They are a figment of this idiot’s imagination.

I say we need to be in Iraq to protect our democracy and against terrorism. We can not let muslims dictate or overtake us with their Islamic beliefs in the land of the free where we accept all religious sects. We should pull out of Iraq when their country is better secured. I do believe we need to keep as much focus or more on Afghanistan.
